Terms of Service

Short Treat Terms of Service

Thank you for choosing Short Treat. These Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as these “Terms”) set out the rules you must follow when accessing and using Short Treat’s products, content and related features, as well as the rights and liabilities between you and the platform operator.

Please read these Terms in full before using the service. Pay special attention to provisions covering account security, personal information, paid transactions, virtual currency, advertising, breach indemnification and limitation of liability.

By accessing, browsing, registering, logging in or otherwise using Short Treat, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not accept any provision herein, please stop using our products and services.

References to “Short Treat”, “we” or “the Platform” in these Terms mean Short Treat and its duly authorised entity responsible for operation, maintenance and administration; “you” or “user” means the individual or organisation that actually accesses or uses Short Treat products and services.

These Terms are binding on such users and the Platform operator, and apply to all products, content, features and related services provided by Short Treat.

Chapter 1 Access and Conditions of Use

1.1 Eligibility and Scope of Licence

Services provided by Short Treat are intended for personal, non-commercial use only, unless a separate written agreement is reached between you and the Platform.

You may access relevant content and features through channels provided, permitted or officially authorised by the Platform. The usage rights granted under these Terms may not be sold, rented, lent or transferred to any third party without authorisation.

You must not use any unauthorised technical means that may interfere with the normal operation of Short Treat. Such means include unapproved plugins, extensions, third-party tools and other technical methods that may modify, damage or disrupt the Platform service.

1.2 Guest Access and Account Login

Short Treat allows you to access part of the content and use certain registration-free features as a guest.

For a more complete experience, we recommend that you use secure authentication methods such as Google SignIn to reduce the risk of account loss, unrecoverable access or unauthorised intrusion.

1.3 Device and Network Resources

You shall independently provide the mobile phone, computer or other terminal equipment required to use Short Treat.

You are responsible for equipment purchase costs, network access fees, mobile data charges and all other costs incurred while using the service.

You acknowledge that Short Treat may consume device storage, network bandwidth and other terminal resources during operation.

1.4 Software Licence and Subsequent Updates

Certain services may require you to install or run software provided by Short Treat.

For such software, the Platform grants you a personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable licence solely to access and use Short Treat services. You may not use the software for other purposes without prior written authorisation.

We may release software updates for security maintenance, feature enhancement, service optimisation or experience improvement.

You are advised to use the latest available version. If you continue to run an outdated version, the Platform does not guarantee that all features will work properly.

Chapter 2 User Data, Account Security and Privacy

2.1 Your Obligation to Safeguard Your Account

You must keep your account details, passwords and other authentication credentials secure to prevent unauthorised use.

Logging out promptly after use reduces the risk of thirdparty access to your account.

You shall bear responsibility for account compromise, unauthorised access and resulting losses caused by voluntary disclosure, inadequate safeguarding of credentials, forgotten information or other reasons attributable to you.

Subject to the limits permitted by applicable law, the Platform shall not be liable for account security incidents, privacy leaks and related losses, including incidents arising from system vulnerabilities or internal administrative oversights.

2.2 Personal Information Management

Short Treat attaches great importance to personal information security as a core operational priority.

When you log in via a thirdparty account, we deploy appropriate security technologies, internal procedures and confidentiality arrangements within feasible technical limits to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, use or disclosure of your personal data.

You may use Platform functions to view, correct or update personal information you have previously submitted.

2.3 Protection and Disclosure of NonPublic Information

We will not disclose your personal information to other enterprises, institutions or individuals, except where you give explicit consent, applicable law requires disclosure, or one of the special scenarios set out in these Terms applies.

This principle also governs user registration data and nonpublic content stored on Platform systems.

Exceptions for permitted disclosure include:

  1. You have consented in advance;
  2. Disclosure is required by applicable laws and regulations;
  3. A government, judicial or other competent authority makes a lawful request;
  4. Disclosure is necessary to protect the public interest;
  5. Disclosure is required to safeguard Short Treat’s legitimate rights and interests.

For further rules on the processing of your personal information, please refer to the Short Treat Privacy Policy.

Chapter 3 Content Use, Intellectual Property and Infringement Complaints

3.1 Ownership of Platform Content

Names, trademarks, trade marks, brand elements and other marks appearing in Short Treat products and services belong to the Platform or the respective rights holders and are protected by applicable law.

Copyright, trademark rights, trade secrets and other legitimate interests in information, text, software, audio, images, videos, graphics and other content provided by the Platform belong to Short Treat or its licensors and rights holders.

These rights are protected by intellectual property laws of the relevant countries or regions.

3.2 Restrictions on Use of Platform Materials

Unless you obtain prior lawful authorisation from Short Treat or the relevant rights holder, you may not copy, modify, distribute, disseminate, publicly display, perform, reproduce, license, sell or transfer Platform content.

You may not create derivative works based on such information, materials, software or audiovisual content without authorisation.

You also may not copy, use, modify or disseminate the Platform’s name, logo and other brand identifiers without permission.

3.3 UserSubmitted Content

You are solely responsible for any content you upload, publish, send, transmit or otherwise provide through Short Treat.

Such content includes but is not limited to text, web pages, images, audio, video, graphics, hyperlinks and other materials.

You warrant that such content is lawfully sourced and that you hold the relevant rights or have obtained all necessary licences and authorisations from rights holders.

You agree that Short Treat may use your submitted or transmitted content to the extent reasonably necessary to perform these Terms, deliver services, maintain normal operations, handle complaints or protect the Platform’s legitimate interests.

3.4 Handling of Rights Complaints

If Short Treat receives a complaint from a rights holder or other party alleging that content you have provided infringes their legitimate rights, the Platform may take appropriate action.

We may delete, block or disable the content, or restrict access to it by other users.

If you use Platform content without authorisation and infringe intellectual property rights, Short Treat reserves the right to terminate service immediately, require you to delete or destroy unlawfully obtained materials, and pursue further legal remedies.

Chapter 4 Payment and Content Purchases

4.1 Free and Paid Services

Short Treat may offer both free features and paid content.

Fees paid by you constitute consideration for the corresponding valueadded services provided by the Platform.

For products or services requiring payment, you shall complete the transaction in accordance with the price, billing method, applicable rules and validity period shown on the purchase page.

4.2 Access Period for Content

For subscribed or payperview content, the service is valid for one month from the date of payment.

You will have access to the purchased content during that period.

Short Treat shall not be liable if you can no longer view or access purchased content after expiry.

Completed content subscriptions or purchases generally cannot be amended or reversed.

4.3 TopUp Balance and Refunds

Funds credited to your account may only be used to purchase Platform services in accordance with these Terms.

Consumed or used topup amounts are nonrefundable.

You may submit an application to Short Treat for a refund of unused account balance. If approved, refunds will generally be issued in the corresponding currency via the original payment channel.

Approved refunds are subject to a handling fee equal to 10% of the refund amount.

If the original payment method is unavailable for refund, you may contact the Platform and provide an alternative receiving account for refund processing.

4.4 Changes to Prices and Billing Rules

Short Treat may adjust service prices, charging standards, billing methods and payment rules according to operational needs.

Different products may have different pricing structures, and pricing for the same product may change across operational phases.

We may also convert certain previously free services into paid services.

Such adjustments will be announced to users in advance. Revised rules take effect upon publication and form part of these Terms.

If you disagree with new pricing, you may stop using the relevant service. Continued use after the new rules take effect constitutes acceptance of the changes.

Chapter 5 Virtual Currency and TopUp Transactions

5.1 Virtual Currency Rules

Certain Short Treat products or features may require inapp virtual currency for purchase.

Different items may require different types of virtual currency; please confirm that the selected currency is valid for the item before payment.

5.2 TopUp Submission and Confirmation

Before topping up, you must verify the target account, topup amount, virtual currency type and other order details.

Once a topup is completed, the transaction cannot be cancelled or modified.

You shall bear losses caused by entering an incorrect account, selecting the wrong amount or other user operational errors.

5.6 Prohibition on PeertoPeer Virtual Currency Trading

Users are not permitted to exchange or trade Platform virtual currency privately between themselves.

If such activity occurs, the Platform may restrict account functions, suspend service or terminate account access without prior notice.

Users whose accounts are frozen or terminated for breaching this clause have no right to claim compensation from Short Treat.

5.4 ThirdParty Payment Rules

If you top up or purchase through a thirdparty payment provider, you must also comply with that provider’s terms of service and transaction rules.

Please protect your personal data, payment accounts and other sensitive information.

Short Treat shall not be liable for disputes or losses arising from issues attributable to the thirdparty payment provider.

5.5 TopUp Discrepancies

If a Platform system fault causes a mismatch between the amount you paid and the amount actually received by Short Treat, you may provide valid proof after transaction data can be restored for Platform verification.

After verification, the following rules apply:

  1. If the amount received by the Platform is less than the amount due, we will make up the difference;
  2. If the amount received by the Platform exceeds the amount due, we reserve the right to recover the excess.

Chapter 6 Advertising, Promotional Material and External Services

6.1 Provision of Advertisements

Short Treat may display advertisements, commercial promotions or other marketing content within the app, either directly or through thirdparty providers.

We may adjust ad placement, format, targeting scope and other arrangements according to operational needs without separate notice for each change.

6.2 Advertising and Paid Features

Purchasing a paid Short Treat product or service does not guarantee the removal of all advertisements in the app.

Ad display forms part of the Platform’s service arrangement. By accepting these Terms, you understand and agree to this arrangement.

6.3 Ad Content and User Judgement

The Platform conducts advertising activities in compliance with applicable laws.

However, you must independently assess the truthfulness, accuracy and reliability of goods, services and information presented in advertisements.

Before clicking ads, making purchases or acting on ad content, verify the information and the identity of the counterparty.

Except where applicable law expressly provides otherwise, you bear losses arising from transactions or actions taken based on advertising content.

6.4 ThirdParty Products and Liability

If you access, use or redirect to thirdparty products, features, content or services through Short Treat, you must comply with the relevant provider’s agreements, rules and policies.

To the extent permitted by applicable law and relevant contracts, Short Treat and thirdparty service providers each perform their own service obligations and bear liability for their own acts and disputes.

Chapter 7 User Conduct and Platform Moderation

7.1 Compliance with Law and Social Norms

When using Short Treat, you shall comply with applicable local laws and respect public order, ethical standards, customs and traditions.

You must not use the Platform for unlawful, infringing, fraudulent or improper conduct.

7.2 Prohibited Conduct

The following activities are forbidden:

  1. Publishing, disseminating, storing or transmitting content that endangers national security and unity, undermines social stability, violates public order or morality, or contains insulting, defamatory, pornographic, violent or unlawful material;
  2. Infringing the intellectual property rights, trade secrets or other legitimate rights of others;
  3. Misleading or defrauding others by false statements or concealment of facts;
  4. Distributing unsolicited advertisements, spam or other commercial promotional material;
  5. Engaging in any activity expressly prohibited by applicable laws and regulations.

7.3 Local Rules and Public Activities

Wherever you use Short Treat, you must comply with local law and social norms.

You must not use the service in a way that draws Short Treat into political activities, public incidents, social controversies or similar matters.

If your conduct creates such risk, the Platform may suspend or terminate your service.

You are solely responsible for consequences arising from breaches of local laws, customs or social norms.

7.4 Platform Enforcement Measures

If Short Treat identifies potentially violating content or conduct, or receives user complaints or rightsholder notices, we may take appropriate action according to the circumstances.

Measures may include deleting, blocking or disabling content, restricting features, or suspending/terminating service.

For serious violations, we may restrict, freeze or terminate your account and take further lawful action.

The Platform may cooperate with competent authorities in investigations, enforcement and lawful requests concerning unlawful conduct.

Chapter 8 Breach of Contract and Indemnification

8.1 Material Breach

Violations of service restrictions, intellectual property requirements, codes of conduct, local law or other provisions of these Terms may constitute material breach.

8.2 Prepaid Funds and Remedies for Breach

In the event of material breach, Short Treat may suspend or terminate your service and retain fees you have already paid as agreed liquidated damages.

If the Platform’s actual losses exceed the retained amount, we reserve the right to claim the excess and seek further legal remedies.

8.3 Losses to Third Parties and the Platform

If your breach causes harm to other individuals or organisations, you shall bear liability.

If Short Treat suffers losses, incurs legal liability, faces thirdparty claims or other expenses as a result of your conduct, you shall indemnify the Platform.

The Platform also reserves the right to pursue remedies through legal channels.

Chapter 9 Service Risks and Limitation of Liability

9.1 Service Availability

Short Treat provides features and services based on current technical capability and operational conditions.

We will strive to maintain continuity, stability and security, but do not guarantee faultfree service at all times.

Factors that may disrupt service include natural disasters, cyberattacks, viruses, trojans, system failures, data loss, thirdparty service outages and government action.

9.2 Force Majeure

Force majeure means objective events that are not reasonably foreseeable, unavoidable and insurmountable, such as natural disasters, war, civil unrest and government action.

If such events affect Platform services, we will undertake reasonable maintenance, repair and remediation.

Short Treat shall not be liable for losses directly caused by force majeure to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

9.3 Other Technical and Operational Risks

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for service interruption, delay or malfunction caused by:

  1. Viruses, trojans, malware, hacking or other cybersecurity incidents;
  2. Failure of your device, software, operating system, hardware, communication line or related systems;
  3. User operational error;
  4. Unauthorised use of the service;
  5. Other events outside the Platform’s reasonable control.

9.4 Online Content and Conduct of Other Users

Information online and the conduct of other users are inherently uncertain.

Short Treat does not warrant the truthfulness, accuracy, suitability or legality of thirdparty information and is not liable for losses caused by thirdparty infringement.

Such risks include threatening, defamatory, offensive or unlawful postings, and emotional, personal or financial harm caused by deception or misrepresentation by other users.

9.5 HighRisk Use Restriction

Short Treat is not designed for use in highrisk environments such as nuclear facilities, military systems, medical systems or transportation systems.

If the service is used in such scenarios and system or service malfunction causes injury, death, property damage or environmental harm, the Platform shall not be liable.

9.6 Limits of Content Moderation

Short Treat may remove or restrict unlawful or violating content under these Terms, but this authority does not impose a duty to proactively review all content.

We cannot guarantee that every unlawful or violating act will be detected, reviewed or addressed promptly.

9.7 AntiFraud Guidance

Please exercise caution with messages involving loans, account password requests, fund transfers, account verification, virtual assets or other financial matters.

Before transacting or submitting sensitive information, verify the identity of the counterparty and follow Short Treat’s antifraud alerts and security guidance.

Chapter 10 Minor Users and Parental Supervision

10.1 Requirements for Minors

Users under the age of 18 must read these Terms and use Short Treat services under the supervision and guidance of their parents or legal guardians.

10.2 Guidance for Minors

Minor users must pay special attention to personal information safety and personal security when using online services.

We recommend minors:

  1. Understand the difference between the internet and real life, manage usage time reasonably and avoid excessive use that interferes with study and daily life;
  2. Exercise caution when sharing personal data and take steps to protect privacy;
  3. Use the internet under parental or guardian guidance;
  4. Avoid unfamiliar, unlawful, suspicious or other highrisk online activities.

10.3 Guardian Responsibilities

Parents, legal guardians and schools should monitor minors’ internet use and provide safety education and guidance.

If a guardian wishes a minor, especially a child under 10 years old, to use Short Treat, the guardian may register an account in their own name and decide whether the content and features are suitable for the minor.

Short Treat also prioritises the protection of minors’ personal information.

Chapter 11 Amendment, Termination and Dispute Resolution

11.2 Acceptance of Revised Terms

We may revise or supplement these Terms to reflect service updates, operational changes or other practical needs.

Your continued access or use of Short Treat after the revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the new wording.

If you do not accept the revisions, you must stop using the service.

11.3 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the law of your place of residence, excluding conflict of law rules.

11.4 Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises between you and Short Treat out of or in connection with these Terms or the service, the parties will first attempt to resolve it amicably through negotiation.

If negotiation fails, the dispute shall be submitted to a neutral international arbitral institution agreed by both parties for final arbitration.

11.5 Severability

Section headings are for readability only and do not affect interpretation of individual clauses.

If any provision or part of a provision of these Terms is found invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force.
